Firefighters Battling Blaze in Garage on Meridian Street
About 42 LAFD firefighters are trying to contain the fire, which has spread to a small structure nearby.
Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters battled a blaze in a garage located at 5138 E. Meridian St. in Highland Park Thursday morning, and the fire has spread to a small, 600-square-foot structure nearby, according to LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.
About 42 firefighters were assigned to tackle the blaze, according to a post on LAFDAlert.blogspot.com, and Humphrey said that as of 8:50 a.m. firefighters were still trying to control the fire.
