Every evening at around 6 p.m. a private bus parks on the southeast corner of Eagle Rock Boulevard and York Boulevard as passengers board the vehicle for a trip to Fantasy, a casino in Indio, near Palm Spring, CA, according to the driver of the bus on Sunday.
There's a city bus stand on the corner, and although it isn't clear if the bus has a permit to stop there, that's arguably not the greatest concern about its daily presence.
What's disconcerting is that instead of pulling over as close to the bus stand as possible, the bus occupies the entire far-right lane while passengers get on board. On Sunday, that process lasted more than five minutes—and the bus was blocking the bike lane at the same time as a young girl and her father were riding south on the boulevard.
