
1. House clean up
A house on 905 Pine Grove Ave., off Figueroa in eastern Eagle Rock, will be the focus Monday of a community-based clean-up effort initiated by Los Angeles Police Department Senior Lead Officer Nina Preciado. Volunteers will start cleaning the yard of the house at 8 a.m. today, Aug. 12. The house was recently rid of gang members from Highland Park and Echo Park who trashed the yard after occupying the vacant property following the departure of a tenant. Read more about that here.

Plant Food For People, a weekly pop-up food stall, will serve sumptuous vegan tacos, with slow-cooked pinto beans at rock-bottom prices, starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, on the eastern edge of the mini mall on Colorado Boulevard adjacent to Tommy’s Hamburgers. 4. Eagle Rock Land Use Issues
The Land Use Committee of the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council is scheduled to meet Thursday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Arthur K. Snyder Community Room at Eagle Rock City Hall, 2035 Colorado Blvd.
5. Eagle Rock street plantings
Aug. 17 is the third Saturday of the month—time for Eagle Rockers to join Collaborative Eagle Rock Beautiful volunteers in the morning at the corner of Eagle Rock Boulevard and Yosemite Drive for their monthly drive to plant saplings on the boulevard medians.
