Help Set the Agenda for the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council
But before that, feast on plant food and consider buying some bargain books.

1. Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council Executive Board Meeting
Every last Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m., the executive board of the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council meets in the back patio of the Coffee Table, 1958 Colorado Blvd., to set the agenda for the organization's general board meeting, which is usually scheduled on the first Tuesday of every month. (The general board meeting for August, however, has been rescheduled on Wednesday, Aug. 7.) All meetings of the ERNC are open to the public, especially Eagle Rock residents. Anyone who would like to propose a particular issue for the council to focus on is welcome to attend this evening's meeting.
2. Plant Food For Eagle Rockers
Don't miss your once-in-a-week chance to grab a bite of vegan carnitas-style tacos served hot off the grill in a food stall located in the parking lot facing Organix, Eagle Rock’s first and only full-fledged organic foods and groceries store that will mark the first anniversary of its opening on Aug. 31. The tacos, which come with slow-cooked pinto beans if you want them, are made by a Highland Park couple who call themselves Plant Food For People. Click here to read more.
3. Stock up on summer reading
Running short of books to read this summer—interesting books you'd rather keep instead of borrowing, that is? No worries. Hop on the 2 freeway going south, exit Fletcher, and hang a left on Silver Lake Boulevard, which will transport you momentarily to the resplendent Silver Lake branch of the Los Angeles Public Library. There, the Friends of the library will be conducting a used books sale, starting at 2 p.m. In case you didn't know, it's one of the best used books sales in town at bargain prices.
