LAFD Paramedics Take One of Their 'Regular Customers' to Hospital

Eagle Rock Fire Station 42 responds to a 911 call from Danny, a familiar figure on Colorado Boulevard.

Paramedics from Eagle Rock Fire Station 42 responded to a 911 call Tuesday afternoon from a man who one of the paramedics described—only half-jokingly—as "one of our regular customers."

Referred to just as "Danny," the man was on the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and La Roda Avenue when a fire truck and an ambulance arrived at around 3:30 p.m., blocking a traffic lane on the westbound stretch of the corridor.

Danny was taken to a nearby hospital. "He hasn't had a drink for three days," said Ruben Terrazas, a Los Angeles Fire Department veteran who won the LAFD Paramedic of the Year award in 2010. For confidentiality reasons, Terrazas did not, however, disclose the reason Danny had stated on the 911 call for help.

Terrazas told Eagle Rock Patch that he and his colleagues have responded to calls from Danny numerous times over the years.
