'Mommy, Me and the River' Followed by an Evening of Fun

1. Mommy, me and the river

As part of its Summer 2013 Interpretive Programs, the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority is organizing a special program along the L.A. River for toddlers accompanied by their mommies. The hands-on program, which begins at 11 a.m. today in Marsh Street Nature Park, is described as "a morning of fun exploring nature next to the L.A. 2. TGIF Fresh & Easy beer and buffalo-style chicken wings offer

Every Friday throughout August, the Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market on 4211 Eagle Rock Blvd. offers TGIF deals. Today, the British-owned chain's popular—and some say most profitable—store is offering a pound and a half of buffalo-style chicken wings for just one cent, if you purchase a six-pack of Stella, Heineken or Blue Moon along with it. 3. An evening with Noches de Trova

Every first Friday of the month until December, the Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock will present an evening of distinctive music that fuses bolero, blues and ranchera with jazz, folk and bossa nova. Performed by three talented Latin American troubadours who call themselves Noches de Trova, the music showcases the great diversity found within the Trova style of Cuban music. 4. Eagle Rock Farmers Market

Summer evenings aren't really complete without a dose of farmers market fun. The Eagle Rock Farmers Market is held every Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the corner of Caspar Avenue and Merton Avenue, directly behind Swork Coffee.
