East Palo Alto COVID Vaccines Available Without Appointment

Residents can visit several sites between Thursday to Sunday to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. More information is below.

EAST PALO ALTO, CA — Residents and workers of East Palo Alto, Belle Haven and North Fair Oaks have several opportunities to receive a COVID-19 vaccination over the next few days without an appointment.

Here is information about the slots, courtesy of the office of state Sen. Josh Becker, D-San Mateo:

  • Thursday, April 8, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ravenswood Family Health Center (1885 Bay Road, East Palo Alto) — first doses for eligible East Palo Alto, Belle Haven, and North Fair Oaks residents and workers. No appointment needed. Bring ID.
  • Saturday, April 10, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Facebook Building #28 (164 Jefferson Dr., Menlo Park) — second doses for Belle Haven residents and workers who received their first doses on March 13th at the Onetta Harris Community Center. Bring your CDC Vaccination Card. Click here for free shuttle information.
  • Saturday, April 10, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Facebook Building #28 (164 Jefferson Dr., Menlo Park) — first doses for eligible East Palo Alto, Belle Haven, and North Fair Oaks residents. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. Bring ID. Click here for free shuttle information.
  • Sunday, April 11, from 10 a.m. until supplies last at Cesar Chavez Middle School (2450 Ralmar Ave, East Palo Alto). Appointments encouraged, but walk-ups welcome. For more information, call 650-665-0482.

Becker and other San Mateo County community leaders have called on providing areas hit hardest by COVID-19 with access to vaccinations. In a news release, Becker’s office said he has been successful in increasing vaccines to East Palo Alto and North Fair Oaks, two communities that are home to significant communities of color and essential workers.

Last weekend, with vaccinations open to all residents age 18 and older, 1,983 people were vaccinated in East Palo Alto, and 1,530 in North Fair Oaks. East Palo Alto’s vaccination rate increased from 28 percent to 33 percent after last weekend’s vaccinations, according to Becker.

“Many of these residents are frontline essential workers who have supported us throughout the pandemic in sectors such as food, transportation, or health care,” Becker said. “We need to be there for them like they've been there for us.”

San Mateo County residents can sign up for the county’s notification tool to be notified of available vaccine appointments at county-sponsored vaccination sites.
