Fireworks Near East Palo Alto July 4th 2020 Canceled: More Events

EAST PALO ALTO, CA — Independence Day events across the country will not look the same this year, thanks to the coronavirus. Most area cities and organizations decided to cancel their Fourth of July events, including in San Mateo County.

But throughout the Peninsula and the SF Bay area, a few communities are hosting virtual fireworks and parades, decorating contests and patriotic, fun activities to do from home.

• July 4th Parade, Dog Contest & Games. A day of online fun with virtual parade, kids' zone, games, entertainment and a patriotic costume contest for pups.
• July 4th Parade, Fest & Fireworks: canceled.

• Ol' Fashioned 4th of July Parade: canceled.

• Glorious 4th Fest & Concert: canceled.

• 4th of July Caravan Parade. Special morning route planned, where residents can walk to view the parade's classic cars and listen to music.

• Shoreline Amphitheatre Fireworks and SF Symphony Concert: canceled.

• Rocket Run & July 4th Family Fest: canceled.

• July 4th Chili Cook-Off & Summer Festival: No event planned.

• July 4th Chalk Full of Fun Chalk Festival @HomeEdition. Celebrate the 4th by creating masterpieces on your driveway, sidewalk or street, and share your art online.
• Independence Day Parade, Festival & Fireworks: canceled.

• July 4th Fest & Fireworks 2020: Pier 39: canceled.
• July 4th Golden Gate Park Band Concert: canceled.

• July 4th Fireworks Downtown at Discovery Meadow: canceled.
• Rose, White and Blue Parade & Festival: canceled. Tentatively rescheduled for Labor Day Weekend.
• Annual July 4th Family Fest & Fireworks at Almaden Lake Park: canceled.
• July 4th Fest & Fireworks at Santa Clara County Fairgrounds: canceled.

SAN MATEO:

• Staff will be posting online here plans for a virtual holiday.

SANTA CLARA:

• 4th of July: All City Picnic & Fireworks Extravaganza: canceled.
• Fourth of July Fireworks at Great America. The amusement park was uncertain of its reopening date. However, even if open by July 4th, fireworks shows will not occur this year, but will resume in 2021, a spokesperson said.

WOODSIDE:

• July 4th Junior Rodeo & Mounted Patrol of San Mateo County event canceled, including July 3rd pre-rodeo dinner and dance.
