HIP Housing is a trusted local partner that has provided housing and Home Sharing Services in San Mateo County since 1972. HIP Housing's Home Sharing Program, which is supported by the County of San Mateo and all of its cities, can make finding a housemate or trying to rent out a room in your home a safe and comfortable process.
Homeowners or renters who have a residence with one or more bedrooms are matched with people seeking housing who currently live, work or attend school in San Mateo County. Home Sharing Coordinators interview and screen applicants; conduct local background and reference checks; develop a comprehensive "Living Together Agreement" that spells out the terms of the living arrangement; and provide ongoing follow-up support.
