Motorcycle Crash Kills East Palo Alto Man
The crash occurred early Saturday morning on northbound U.S. Highway 101 near Willow Road.
EAST PALO ALTO, CA - An East Palo Alto motorcyclist died in a Menlo Park crash on U.S. Highway 101 early Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash involved a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle and 2014 Jeep at about 3:30 a.m. in the area of northbound Highway 101 and Willow Road. Officers said it's unclear how the crash happened, but both vehicles were seriously damaged. The motorcyclist, 34-year-old Fredrick Mahoni, died at the scene and the 35-year-old Jeep driver did not report any injuries.
Two lanes of the highway were closed for about two hours afterward. The Jeep driver was not found to be intoxicated, but the CHP is still investigating the crash to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved.
