Palo Alto Car Burglary Suspects Nabbed

Three men — two from East Palo Alto — and two juveniles were arrested early Monday morning.

Five car burglary suspects were arrested in Palo Alto Monday morning after a witness called the police to report suspicious activity, according to the Palo Alto Police Department.

The incident occurred Monday morning. Around 3:39 a.m., the PAPD received a call of young men banging on parked car windows and setting off car alarms in the area around Amarillo Avenue and West Bayshore Road.

The first arriving officer saw a car driving down Tanland Drive with five men inside. The suspects were stopped and questioned. Inside the car, officers found gloves, tools, and several items that were allegedly stolen.

Police canvassed the area and discovered eight vehicles with smashed windows. The property was later returned to the robbery victims, according to the PAPD.

Arrested were David Matthew Foster, 18, of Newark, and Salvador Rodriguez, 19, and David Taufur, 18, both of East Palo Alto. The other two arrested are juveniles.

The adult suspects were booked on charges of auto burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, vandalism, and possession of burglary tools. The juveniles, both 17, were cited and released to their parents.
