2 Injured When Car Slams Into Sunset Boulevard Motel
Two people were trapped in the wreckage, and a Super 8 motel was badly damaged when a car slammed into the building Monday night.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to pull two people from the wreckage of a crash in Echo Park after a car careened into the lobby of a Super 8 motel.
The driver and a passenger, a man and a woman, were critically injured in the crash, which happened at about 9 p.m. Monday at 1341 W. Sunset Blvd. The crash managed to tear an entire wall from the lobby of the hotel, but no one inside the building was injured. Paramedics took the two occupants of the car to a hospital.
According to police, the car struck another vehicle, slammed into a fire hydrant and careened into the building.Building inspectors were sent to examine the structure. The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
