Here are five things to start off your Thursday in Echo Park and Silver Lake:
- A body was found today in Griffith Park on Wednesday. Police officers and firefighters were sent to the 4700 block of Crystal Springs Drive on a report that a man may have fallen in a remote area. Read about the incident in our article.
- Two Los Angeles City Council members said Wednesday they want to legalize the sale of food and wares on Los Angeles sidewalks. Vendors pushing carts selling hot dogs, tacos and other food items are a common sight throughout the city – including Echo Park – but the activity is technically illegal, with many getting cited and sometimes arrested.
- The Echo Park Improvement Association will hold a town hall meeting on Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. at Williams Hall at Barlow Hostpital, 2000 Stadium Way.
