5 Things to Know: Great L.A. Walk, Parking Tickets, Pricey Homes

Here are five things to know for Friday in Echo Park and Silver Lake:

1. The eighth-annual Great Los Angeles Walk will take to the streets of Los Angeles Saturday bringing walkers on a 18-mile journey from Echo Park all the way to Santa Monica on foot. Find out all the details here.
2. Motorists will be able to park on selected Los Angeles streets without fear of tickets if street-sweepers fail to stick to their usual cleaning schedules, under a system announced Wednesday. See where to find the website here.
