Britney Spears Wears Echo Park's 'Blood Is the New Black'

Silver Lake resident Mitra Khayyam was very excited on Facebook Thursday.

She'd just seen a picture on the celebrity news site Dlisted of Britney Spears, walking with her man.

But it wasn't just any celeb shot.

Spears was sporting one of the artist-designed T-shirts Khayyam sells around the world through her Echo Park based "Blood is the New Black" line.

Dlisted focuses on the UGGs Spears is wearing.

And, as Khayyam noted on Facebook, Ms. Spears probably doesn't even know where the shirt came from.

But we think it's a boost for BITNB, which Khayyam founded in 2004, and runs out of a space on Sunset Boulevard near Dodger Stadium.

Blood Is the New Black often features emerging artists, giving them a chance to reach a wider audience.

This one was designed by Angeleno artist Nicole Guice.

Definitely done!
