Driver Identified in Fatal 110 Crash Near Echo Park

The coroner's office today identified a motorist who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the Harbor (110) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles.

Nelson Vasquez, 41, was driving a Ford sedan that struck a light pole near the Temple Street exit of the northbound 110 about 12:20 a.m. Friday.

Vasquez, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos said it was possible the sedan struck the freeway center divider before hitting the light pole.
