8:00 - 9:45 -- "Rock the Boat " Screening and FIlmmaker Q&A
"Rock the Boat" is a rarely-screened documentary about the groundbreaking 2008 expedition down the entire 52 miles of the Los Angeles River.
Led by adventurer George Wolfe, 12 hardy souls spent three days making the journey that helped establish the L.A. River as a "navigable" waterway subject to heightened public protection.
Filmmaker Thea Mercouffer and Wolfe will be on hand for a Q&A after the screening.
9:45 - 11:00 -- "Rock the Joke" Comedy
Stand up set curated by Jeffrey Tipton, a doctor, river guide and one of the original dozen in the "Rock the Boat" expedition.
He'll be joined by Aiko Tanaka, Shishonia Francesca and Zara Mizrahi.
11:00-12:00 - LA River Music
