Updated: Police Barricade Resolved in Silver Lake
Police locked down the area after a man barricaded himself inside a house and said he had a gun.
Update: Police told Echo Park Patch that the barricade ended at about 9 p.m. after a man described as emotionally distressed and believed to be armed was taken to a hospital.
Police say the man had called friends earlier in the afternoon, claiming he was trying to kill himself. The friends called police, who said the man told them he had a gun. Police say they found no weapon after using a SWAT robot to enter the house.

This is the second incident in just two weeks where police, SWAT officers and LAPD battering rams have gathered at the intersection of Maltman and Marathon.

Earlier: Silver Lake residents told Eastsider LA of a heavy police presence on Sunday evening on Maltman Avenue between Bellevue Avenue and Marathon Street.
