HNTB participates at L.A. Metro’s ‘Meet the Primes’ networking event with disadvantaged and small businesses
One-on-one interviews were conducted by HNTB with prospective DBE/SBE partners for major infrastructure projects
HNTB Corporation participated in the 2017 “Meet the Primes” networking event hosted by Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority in downtown Los Angeles. The event provided an opportunity for disadvantaged and small businesses to meet and network with HNTB and other prime contractors in the region to learn how to partner on major infrastructure projects, including Metro’s Purple Line Extension, Section 3.
“This valuable outreach event provides an excellent opportunity for disadvantaged and small businesses to meet with prime contractors, share their areas of expertise and learn about what current and future contracting opportunities exist on planned infrastructure projects with L.A. Metro,” said Daniel Louis, PE, HNTB vice president and southern California PM/CM director and tunnel practice director (West). “HNTB is committed to help small business partners overcome challenges that may make it difficult to win contracts on public projects.”
HNTB employees at the event included Louis, Mark Ramsey, Jim De la Loza, Steve Greene and Elly Johnson. The team met with about 50 small businesses and collectively conducted about 20 one-on-one interviews with prospective future DBE/SBE partners. During the interviews, HNTB shared current contracting opportunities, explained qualification and selection requirements and identified next steps for potential candidates.

“The event also served as an excellent opportunity to highlight HNTB’s capabilities, the firm’s involvement in regional projects and to meet potential strategic subcontractor partners,” Louis said.
