Kevin Hart Challenges Celebs To Fundraise For Harvey Victims

Actor and comedian Kevin Hart is turning to fellow celebrities to help raise money for hurricane Harvey victims.

HOLLYWOOD, CA - Actor and comedian Kevin Hart is using his social clout to raise money for Houston relief efforts. Now, celebrities are stepping up to the plate. Hart posted a challenge on Instagram Sunday night, and again Monday, "calling out" celebrities to encourage them to make donations.

Hart stated that he was reaching out to "anybody right now who's in a powerful position where we can impact this issue."

"Let's help, let's really, really try to save some lives," Hart -- who personally donated $50,000 -- said in an Instagram video.

Hart's partner in crime, actor Duane "The Rock" Johnson, shared to his audience, responding in kind.

Other celebrities who are responding to the challenge include the Kardashian family, which announced a $500,000 donation to the cause. Khloe Kardashian announced the gift on Twitter, writing, "Houston we are praying for you!!"

Kim Kardashian West and Kris Jenner also posted words of encouragement for Houston and urged people to make donations to the Red Cross and Salvation Army.

"We must all stand together in times of need," Jenner wrote.

R&B singer Chris Brown also responded to Hart's challenge, announcing a $100,000 donation to relief efforts.

"I implore and encourage anybody else who can change and make a change for this to please donate," Brown said in a video posted on social media.

Hart, through his work with the Red Cross, has amassed over $600,000 in donations in under 24-hours.
