Silver Lake Reservoir Robberies: LAPD Issues Alert

Joggers are warned to keep electronic equipment out of sight after two separate robberies along the Silver Lake Reservoir path recently.

The Northeast Division of the Los Angeles Police Department has issued a community alert after two recent robberies along the Silver Lake Reservoir path.

Police are encouraging locals to jog or walk during the day and in pairs, and to avoid wearing headphones or carrying electronic equipment to avoid further incidents.

The alert adds to what has already been reported about the incidents saying both times "three to four suspects have been seen." It also notes that both times the robbers "brandished a weapon" before taking "media electronics" and hopping into either a Toyota four-door squareback or a Honda Accord from the late 1990s, early 2000s.

As previously reported, the second of the two robberies occurred on May 6 at Hawick and West Silver Lake Drive. It is still not known exactly where or when the first occurred, though the alert says both robberies occurred after April 28.

The men in the car are described as young men, aged 16 to 20, with brown hair and brown eyes, ranging from 160 to 200 pounds.
