Call for Citizen Applicants – City Boards and Commissions
The City of El Cerrito is inviting applications from residents to serve on citizen boards, committees and commissions. It's an excellent way to participate in local government and serve the community, the city says.

The City of El Cerrito issued a notice Friday inviting residents to apply for vacancies on city boards, commissions and committees.
The city has 13 citizen panels that deal with a wide range of issues and are filled by about 80 volunteers from the community. Several have authority over key city decisions like approvals for new businesses or public art. Several generate ideas for new laws and sponsor civic events and activities.

Information about vacancies and the commissions can be obtained from City Clerk Cheryl Morse at 510-215-4305 or cmorse@ci.el-cerrito.ca.us. Application forms can be obtained from her office or downloaded from the city website.
"Members of Boards, Commissions and Committees provide an invaluable service to our community," the city notice says. "It is an excellent way to participate in the functioning of local government and to make a personal contribution to the improvement of our community."

The deadline for applications is 12 noon, Monday, Dec. 10. They may be returned to the City Clerk at 10890 San Pablo Avenue, El Cerrito, CA 94530.
