The El Cerrito Relay for Life continues through 10 a.m. Sunday with its celebration of life at Cerrito Vista Park, 24 hours after it started.
Live music and a lively group of volunteers made for a fun afternoon Saturday. A more solemn moment followed around nightfall with the lighting of luminaria to remember loved ones who lost the battle with cancer, or who continue the fight.

The goal this year is to raise $30,000 and El Cerrito Relay for Life chair person Laura Gonzalez says the group is "very close" to getting there.
