Crowdfunds Sought for Homeless Girl Battling Leukemia
A GoFundMe campaign hopes to raise $10,000 for the family of a Richmond girl battling cancer so they can bring her home from the hospital.

RICHMOND, CA- A Richmond family is crowdfunding in hopes of raising enough funds to support their first-grade daughter battling cancer at Children’s Hospital Oakland, the challenge is, her family is reportedly homeless.
According to her GoFundMe story, Josellyne has rapidly growing Leukemia and has been hospitalized since April 19, receiving chemo treatment several days per week for at least the next week. Due to her condition, the hospital cannot let her be discharged until the family ha a home.
“Josellyne is a beautiful, vibrant 1st grader at Nystrom Elementary in Richmond,” says the story, “Her mother Evelyn, is resilient and deeply committed to her daughter and her four other kids ranging in age from 18 months to 13 years old. One year ago her father, a hard-working man, originally from El Salvador, was deported to Mexico. He tried to reunite with his family only to be deported again.”
