EC Police Investigate Mystery Gun Report, Find Stolen Vehicles
The police blotter for April 19-21 also includes a residential burglary on Barrett and several DUIs.

April 19, 2013
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 2300 block of Mono Ave.
At approximately 0921 hours, an anonymous citizen called the police to report a suspicious vehicle parked in her neighborhood. El Cerrito police officers located an unoccupied Honda CRX, which was reported stolen to the Richmond Police Department on April 18.

Officers responded to a call of a man with a gun. The reporting party advised seeing a black Hummer with no plates and lights on the roof, occupied by a group of juveniles drive up to the listed address. One of the occupants, a juvenile, exited the vehicle and removed what appeared to be a rifle from a bush in front of the residence. Officer circulated the area and did not locate the vehicle or a burglarized residence.
Driving under the Influence – San Pablo Ave @ I-80
At 2232 hours, officers made a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving under the influence. During booking, officers discovered that the driver had three prior DUI convictions in the last ten years and was on probation for DUI. The officers took the driver to county jail.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 43-year-old Richmond woman, for DUI. The driver was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then cited and released to a sober family member.

At 0202 hours, officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver for DUI. The driver was released to a sober friend

Auto Burglary – 6600 Cutting Blvd.
At 0625 hours, the victim walked out of her residence and saw a white male adult inside her vehicle. The male ran into a grey older model sedan. The victim noticed that her rear passenger window was broken and her tote bag, containing some of her property, was missing.
The victim described the man as approximately 30 years old, with a medium build, 5’9”, short dark hair, wearing blue windbreaker jacket with red stripes and dark jeans.
Residential Burglary – 5600 block of Barrett Ave.
An unknown suspect pried open the rear door to a residence and stole miscellaneous housing materials (cabinets, tiles, tools). The residence is under renovation. The burglary occurred sometime between April 18 at 1630 hours and April 19, 0800 hours.
Warrant Arrest - Manor Circle
At 1718 hours, officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested the driver for an outstanding warrant from Pinole Police Department.
Drunk in Public - 2000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1947 hours, officers responded to a call of an unwanted person who was causing a disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and contacted a 36-year-old Richmond man, who was not able to stand on his own and was too intoxicated to care for himself. Officers took the man to county jail.
Stolen Vehicle Recovery - S.56th St @ Potrero Ave
At 2043 hours, officers recovered a stolen vehicle that was reported stolen to Richmond Police Department on 4/19.
Warrant Arrest, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 11555 San Pablo Ave.
At 2314 hours, officers conducted a pedestrian stop on two subjects and subsequently arrested a 31-year-old Vallejo man for an outstanding warrant and a 53-year-old woman for being in possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers released both subjects with citations.

At 0105 hours, officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 24-year-old Richmond man, for DUI. Officers booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and then took him to county jail.
Driving under the Influence – San Pablo Ave @ Schmidt Lane
At 0104 hours, officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 23-year-old Richmond woman, for DUI. Officers booked the woman at the El Cerrito Police Department and released her to a sober friend.

Petty Theft with Priors – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Lucky)
At 1843 hours, Officers accepted the citizen’s arrest of 51-year-old Berkeley man after he attempted to walk out of the business with a shopping cart full of merchandise. A criminal history check revealed multiple convictions for theft. The male was transported to county jail.
Trespassing – 11382 San Pablo Ave (Atlas Liquors)
At 1901 hours, officers observed a 64-year-old Richmond man in front of the business. Officers previously issued the man a warning for trespassing at the business. When they saw him again, the officers arrested him for trespassing, booked him, and released him with a citation.

At 0057 hours, officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 21-year-old Oakland man, for DUI. Officers booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and released him to a sober friend.
Stolen Vehicle Recovery - 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway)
At 2341 hours, officers recovered a 2007 U-Haul box truck parked in the lot of the business. The truck was reported stolen to the Oakland Police Department on 4/18/13.
