El Cerrito Earth Day Community Clean-Up and Luncheon Registration Now Open
The city invites residents to join in the beautification and preservation of El Cerrito on Saturday, April 16.

EL CERRITO, CA- Residents are invited to join the annual community work party in El Cerrito to celebrate Earth Day, Saturday, April 16 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The City of El Cerrito welcomes volunteers to:
- Help tidy parks
- Pick up litter to help reduce the amount of trash that ends up in creeks, waterways, and the bay
- Help plant 13 trees at Arlington Park
- Remove broom, an invasive and fire-prone plant, from the Hillside Nature Area
- Distribute information about the City’s smoke-free policy to local businesses
Following clean-up, volunteers are invited to an appreciation luncheon at the El Cerrito Community Center from noon until 1:30 p.m. The luncheon will include informational tables, an art activity, and a complementary seedling giveaway courtesy of the El Cerrito Community Garden Network.

As in previous years, the city expects hundreds of volunteers to participate; advanced registration is required. Individuals, families and groups are asked to register online at www.el-cerrito.org/earthday or by email to earthday@el-cerrito.ca.us.
Gloves, bags, and tools will be provided to all volunteers who are registered.
