El Cerrito Library Debuts LGBT-Plus Collection
The collection includes books for everyone and relates to gender identity and sexual orientation.

EL CERRITO, CA — A celebration will be held this evening to introduce a new special LGBT+ book collection to visitors to the El Cerrito Library, library officials said.
The celebration of the DeLoach and Troy LGBT+ Special Collection will start at 6 p.m. today at the library at 6510 Stockton Ave. in El Cerrito.
The collection, which was established with money from the DeLoach and Troy trust after Kensington residents James S. DeLoach and Eugene S. Troy, includes books for everyone and relates to gender identity and sexual orientation.

"This collection serves an important part of our community that is often overlooked," county librarian Melinda Cervantes said in a statement.

The celebration includes a ribbon-cutting with El Cerrito Mayor Gabriel Quinto, a reading by poet Vernon Keeve III and among other activities, a performance by Youth Musical Theater Company.
