El Cerrito Police: Fireworks Are Illegal

EL CERRITO, CA — El Cerrito Police are reminding local residents and visitors that Contra Costa County is a "fireworks-free-zone." It is illegal to sell, possess, or use fireworks of any kind.

The ban includes so-called safe and sane fireworks. It's County ordinance 44-2.002.
