El Cerrito, Richmond BART Problem Resolved
AC Transit is helped out with a bus bridge until service was restored.
EL CERRITO, CA — BART service has resumed between the Richmond and El Cerrito Plaza stations Tuesday morning after an earlier track equipment problem stopped service for more than an hour, according to the transit agency.
The problem began around 10:10 a.m. when power went out on the third rail for the tracks between the El Cerrito del Norte and Richmond stations, BART spokeswoman Anna Duckworth said. With BART service not running, Alameda-Contra Costa Transit buses helped take passengers along the affected area of the line.
Duckworth said that as of shortly before 11:30 a.m., BART service was resuming and closures were no longer in effect.
