Food Program Taking Applications Online, By Phone

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is for pregnant women and children age 5 and younger.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY — Contra Costa County announced Wednesday that residents eligible for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children can still apply for benefits during the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

Pregnant women and women who have an infant or child less than 5 years old may be qualified for the WIC program, particularly if their income has been affected by the coronavirus outbreak and the Bay Area and statewide shelter-in-place orders.

While in-person appointments to apply for WIC benefits are currently suspended to contain the virus' spread, qualifying women in Contra Costa County can apply for the program online or by calling 800-414-4942.
