Local Students To Compete In National KidWind Challenge (Photos)
The El Cerrito students earned invitations when they competed at a local event.
EL CERRITO, CA — Two 6th grade students from Prospect Sierra Middle School in El Cerrito put their STEM skills to the test and qualified for a national wind turbine design and building competition called the National KidWind Challenge.
Samuel Goldstein and Niko Pollard competed individually at a local event on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the California State University Maritime Academy in Vallejo. Goldstein and Pollard placed first and second in the middle school division, respectively.
The National KidWind Challenge will take place in Houston on May 21-23.
