A Love Letter To James Armstrong

Although she was hesitant at first, one woman found love with an unexpected person.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Ann Armstrong’s letter to her husband, James:

To my love, my husband,

I may have been 48, but in many ways my life began when I met you, a widower. I didn’t want to date you -- I was always afraid I would just be a Band-Aid for a broken heart. But I learned that you loved with all your heart and you understood commitment. I realized that no one would have ever let someone like you go. It was only this way that you would have been available.

It’s been almost 15 years now, and although there are times we both get on each other’s nerves, to this day I feel loved, cherished and amazed that when Mr. Right finally came along, I almost let someone with full capacity to love again slip through my fingers. I love you James Armstrong, no matter what comes my way in life, I know I have been beyond blessed.

Love,
Ann
