Man Shot To Death In Richmond
Police say an argument at an apartment complex led to the shooting.
RICHMOND, CA — Police arrested a man suspected of gunning down a 38-year-old Richmond man after an argument in the common area of an apartment complex Thursday night.
The shooting was reported about 9:30 p.m. at 2989 Pullman Ave., outside the Pullman Point Apartments.
While officers were on their way to the scene, the victim arrived at Kaiser Hospital in Richmond, Sgt. Aaron Pomeroy said. Doctors provided emergency care, but Alex Otis, 38, died shortly after arriving at the hospital, police said.

An argument reportedly led to the shooting, but police didn't provide details about the dispute.
Richmond homicide detectives talked to witnesses and collected evidence, and the investigation led to the arrest of a 24-year-old Richmond man, Pomeroy said. The suspect's name was not released pending charges with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

The death is Richmond's 19th homicide this year.
