More BART Trains on Richmond Line Evening Commute

The transit system will add four trips in both directions between Richmond and Millbrae for the evening commute, starting in September.

BART will add four additional trips in both directions on the Richmond-Millbrae line during evening commute beginning on Sept. 10, the transit agency has announced.

The expansion of service wlll include an extra hour on that line.
Currently, the Richmond-Millbrae and Fremont-Daly City routes stop operating at around 7 p.m. With the modified schedule, that service on the Richmond-Millbrae line will be extended until 8 p.m. Subsequently, the Fremont-Daly City line will still stop at 7 p.m., an hour earlier than now.

"BART chose this service increase based on a thorough analysis of how to increase capacity in an economical way," according to a BART statement.

The transit agency said that until the fleet of new BART replacement trains are delivered for service, "the ability to add service requiring additional cars remains limited."
