Activity for July 26-28 as reported by the El Cerrito Police Department


July 26, 2013

Possession of a Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave. / Burlingame Ave.
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 51-year-old Pinole man for possession of methamphetamine. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Warrant Arrest – Madison Ave. / S. 57th St.
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 19-year-old Richmond man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential Burglary – 1000 block of Elm Ct.
An unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence via an unlocked bathroom window and stole electronics and jewelry sometime between 7/26/13 at 1830 hours and 2230 hours.

July 27, 2013

Possession of a Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave. / Cutting Blvd.
Officers conducted a bicycle enforcement stop and arrested a 33-year-old Richmond woman for possession of methamphetamine. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Driving under the Influence – Potrero Ave. / S. 52nd St.
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 30-year-old Perris man, for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober relative.

Driving under the Influence – Waldo Ave. / Kearney St.
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 50-year-old El Cerrito man, for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober friend.

Auto Burglary – 7300 block of Cutting Blvd.
At 0330 hours, officers were dispatched to the area after a neighbor heard a car alarm sounding and saw the dome light on in the victim’s vehicle. Officers arrived to find that an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s passenger window and stole a GPS unit.

Residential Burglary – 1000 block of Elm Ct.
On July 26, between 1830 and 2230 hours, an unknown suspect used a tool and pried open a window to the residence. The suspect stole jewelry and foreign currency.

Auto Burglary – 11000 block of San Pablo Ave.
Between 0800 and 1000 hours, an unknown suspect broke open the front driver side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole change.

Residential Burglary – 2500 block of Tassajara Ave.
On July 23, an unknown suspect stole the victims $8,500 Specialized road bike from the victim’s open garage.

Attempted Residential Burglary – 900 block of Everett St.
Between July 25 at 1200 hours and July 27, at 1300 hours, an unknown suspect removed a glass slat from a rear window to a residence and attempted to make entry into the house. The resident determined that no entry was made into his residence.

July 28, 2013

Commercial Burglary – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 0705 hours, El Cerrito police officers responded to Safeway for a report of an unwanted person inside. Officers learned that a man entered the store, stole merchandise, and fled before officers arrived. El Cerrito police officers circulated the area from the suspect, but were unable to locate him.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave. at San Diego St.
At approximately 1303 hours, during a suspicious vehicle stop, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 30-year-old woman from Antioch for four outstanding warrants for his arrest. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
