Proposed Expansion Could Double Attendance at an El Cerrito Charter School

Some neighbors of the Elm Street campus have concerns over parking, noise, and traffic.

EL CERRITO, CA- A proposed expansion at an El Cerrito charter school has some neighbors voicing concerns over parking, noise and traffic, according to East Bay Times.

East Bay Times reports the Summit K-2 charter school has been operating under a conditional use permit obtained in 2008, allowing enrollment of up to 347 students at the former Windrush School campus on Elm Street.

The school administration is requesting to extend the school day by 30-minutes, and expand the student population to 630 students to accommodate up to twelfth grade.
