Need an extra shot of caffeine while you're shopping for Chunky Monkey ice cream, cereal and the rest of the day's groceries?
Lucky market reached a deal with Rubi Coffee Kiosk to give customers access to coffee drinks within the store at the El Cerrito Plaza. Customers can get a free cup of Seattle's Best Coffee at the kiosk through August 30.
Rubi is launching 120 kiosks in Northern California markets.
The coffee beans are ground and brewed on-demand in a French press-style chamber using filtered water. Customers use a touch screen to choose between two sizes – 12 ounces or 16 ounces – and between brewed coffee and a variety of specialty drinks, including Café Mocha, Café Vanilla and hot chocolate. Customers can also choose their desired levels of sweetener and creamer.
“We developed Rubi as an innovative new way to offer premium coffee in convenient locations and at a great value,” said Maria Stipp, chief new ventures officer for Outerwall. “Northern California was one of the first places we introduced Coinstar kiosks more than 20 years ago, and now we’re thrilled to debut our new Rubi coffee kiosk concept with many of our longtime retail partners in the region.”
Outerwall is the same company that created the Coinstar and Redbox movie kiosks that have become common sights in grocery stores.

Our Seattle’s Best Coffee fans will be delighted to find their favorite coffee now available around-the-clock at the places they visit regularly each day.”
