Special Deployment
During the course of the week, the El Cerrito PD deployed officers in unmarked vehicles in an attempt to apprehend the suspects responsible for the daytime residential burglaries. Officers did not make any arrests during the operation. Please remember to call the ECPD immediately if and when you observe any suspicious persons or vehicles.

Suspicious Subjects
Sometimes burglars use a ruse to enter a victim’s house. They may pose as a utility worker or city employee. It is rare that a city maintenance worker would need to enter a resident’s house. When in doubt, please call the police when someone is asking to come inside your house. Unless you have called them, most utility and city workers will not ask to come in.
