Tip An Explorer Night Wednesday

Your waiter Wednesday at Pasta Pomodoro might seem a little young for a full-time restaurant job, but don't worry, just be sure to give him a nice tip.

Pasta Pomodoro at the El Cerrito Plaza is hosting Tip an Explorer, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The event will support the El Cerrito Police Explorer Program. The Explorers is an opportunity for boys and girls ages 14-20 to learn about law enforcement.

According to the El Cerrito Police website, Explorers get to participate in the following ways:

• Ride Alongs in police cars
• Regular meetings : Training in various aspects of police work
• Color Guard duties at Police Events
• Firearms and Defensive Tactics Training
• Public Events / Traffic Control

Many Police Explorers have gone on to become Police Officers at the ECPD and other agencies.
