Leaders interested in participating in this popular program are introduced to critical issues and top decision-makers through a series of day-long sessions. A diverse group of individuals will be selected to take part in Leadership Elk Grove. The curriculum is designed to inspire and motivate participants to achieve higher levels of leadership responsibility and provides them with the necessary information to understand the complexities of the Elk Grove community.

Each month focuses on a different topic selected for its direct impact to the quality of life and economic prosperity in the City and is developed by leaders in the business community.  Participants have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with current business and community leaders and specialists in the topic area.

The sessions provide a full range of education and exposure to agencies and organizations that influence Elk Grove's economy.  The full day sessions are held at a variety of locations throughout the region, with each location chosen for its relevance to the topic of the day.

In addition to class time, the group is required to select and complete a community project. The purpose of the class project is to develop teamwork and to benefit a non-profit organization, project or cause in the community.  Local organizations may submit class project proposals for consideration for a future class project by contacting the Chamber office.

Leadership Elk Grove is open to those interested in or currently holding leadership positions, and those interested in helping keep Elk Grove a healthy place to live, play and do business.  The limited class size encourages full participation by all participants.  Candidates should demonstrate a desire to serve as a leader in our community and the potential for advancement into leadership positions both in the community and in business.

Tuition is $800.00 per participant for Chamber members and $1,000 for non-members and businesses are encouraged to sponsor employees. Sponsorships of the program as well as individual sessions are also available.  The deadline to apply for the 2012 series is January 18, 2012.  Classes take place the second Thursday of each month beginning February 9, 2012 and run through September with a graduation ceremony planned for October 2012.
