EGPD to Host 'Coffee with a Cop' Friday

By Elk Grove Police Department

Have you ever wanted to ask a police officer a question, but didn’t know how to go about doing it?  Officers from the Elk Grove Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit will be available to answer questions from members of the community on January 27, 2012 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at La Bou (8694 Elk Grove Blvd.) and Nugget Market (7101 Elk Grove Blvd.) as part of the “Coffee with a Cop” program.

The “Coffee with a Cop” program is a unique way to strengthen the partnership between the police department and the community it serves.  “It’s very important that our police officers develop strong relationships within the community,” said Elk Grove Police Chief Robert Lehner.  “We believe that this type of open dialogue plays a critical role in establishing a true partnership between the community and the police department.”  Members of the community will be able to ask specific or general questions related to the neighborhoods they live in.
