CA Inmate With Skull Tattoo On His Face At-Large
Corey Hughes went missing from his work crew on Monday afternoon.

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA -- An inmate with a skull tattoo on his face went missing Monday in Stockton. Corey Hughes, 27, went missing from his work crew, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.
The driver of the work crew notified authorities around 1:30 p.m. Monday of his disappearance. Hughes was last seen near Interstate 5 and Country Club Boulevard.
After his reported escape, the Sheriff's Office shared a Facebook post showing Hughes with a distinct tattoo on his face that appears to be a skull. Associated Press reported that the tattoo "appears to be homemade."

The Facebook post has been shared nearly 4,000 times with more than 1,000 comments, many people remarking on unique his facial features.
The Sheriff's Office said Hughes was sentenced on a weapons charged and was housed in the Honor Farm jail. His release date is scheduled for Feb. 2, 2018.
