CA Lawmaker Proposes Three Paid Days Off For Parents

SACRAMENTO, CA- A California assemblyman wants to give parents more paid time off to allow them to be more involved in school trips and activities.

Assemblyman Mike Gatto proposed legislation that will allow parents of elementary and middle school-aged children three additional paid days off per year, according to CNN Money.

Current California law gives employees up to 40 hours of unpaid leave in order to be involved in school activities under the “Family-School and Partnership Act” of 1995, however, this bill would amend the act to require companies to pay.

The legislation would have an exemption for small businesses. Read more at CNN Money
