Dog Days of Summer Picnic: A Saturday Date for You and Your Pet
Raffles, free BBQ and a costume contest are all part of this doggie-centric event sponsored by the Elk Grove Police Department and Elk Grove Animal Control.
Two words: free barbecue. Need we say more?
OK, we will. The Elk Grove Police Department and Elk Grove Animal Control are putting on a strange but fun-sounding event called the Dog Days of Summer Picnic for pet owners to enjoy with their pooches.
Bring your four-legged friend to the Rotary Grove in Elk Grove Park Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for raffles, a costume contest and consultations with and other doggie-centric vendors. The SPCA will be coordinating adoptions, so if you don't have a dog but would like one, you might just meet your match at the picnic.
