Bay City News Service

An Elk Grove man whose motorcycle crashed into the back of a vehicle on westbound Interstate Highway 80 in Vacaville Thursday morning is in critical but stable condition.

Harold London, 55, was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle on I-80 west of Alamo Drive around 7:50 a.m. when a 2001 Toyota in front of him stopped as traffic in the fast lane slowed and stopped, the California Highway Patrol said.

London was driving at 55 mph two car lengths behind the Toyota driven by Vinh Duc Ma, 32, of Elk Grove. London was unable to stop and he was ejected from his motorcycle when it hit the rear of the Toyota, the CHP said.

He suffered major injuries and was taken to the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Ma was not injured.
