BREAKING: The fatal crash occurred Wednesday morning near Dixon, according to Solano area CHP officials.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A 20-year-old Elk Grove man died in a collision with a big-rig near Dixon Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The victim's name was not released Wednesday afternoon, but a CHP official said he was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Midway Road and state Highway 113 (Rio Dixon Road).
According to CHP Officer David Harvey, the Elk Grove man was driving a copper-colored Dodge Neon sedan westbound on Midway at 10:14 a.m., approaching the intersection with SR-113, as a Peterbilt driven by 69-year-old William Gallagher of Klamath Falls, Orgeon, was traveling northbound on SR-113 also approaching the intersection.
"As the Peterbilt tractor-trailer approached the intersection at Midway Road, the Dodge Neon entered the intersection and the front of the Peterbilt collided with the left side of the Dodge Neon," Harvey said.
