Science Night at Harriet Eddy serves as the capstone event to display student science fair projects and demonstrate to family and friends what happens in school. Each year, the school’s science team picks a theme and plans activities. This year’s theme is “Space: The Final Frontier.” Students volunteer to facilitate the event and participate in training on topics about the theme.
This year, students and staff will dress up as characters from Star Trek, Star Wars and Stargate to present information at 14 student-run activity stations to visitors on the topic of space science. One of the highlights of the event is the life-size, student-built biosphere where visitors can get the feel of living on another planet. The Sacramento Astronomical Society will also host a STAR party in the quad area on campus. Participants will be able to view stars and other space-related phenomena through telescopes and get answers to their questions from experts.
