Joseph Oropesa Funeral Set for Friday

The family of Joseph Oropesa, the 19-year-old man shot to death in the parking lot of an Elk Grove record store Sunday night, will hold a memorial service for him Friday morning.

Oropesa's mother, Jennifer Oropesa, said a viewing will take place at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., both at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 8925 Vintage Park Drive in Sacramento.

A Facebook group, In Loving Memory of Joseph Matthew Oropesa, has been set up for friends to post memories and photos of the teen, who Jennifer Oropesa described in an interview Thursday as adventurous, with "a zest for life."
