Lake Camanche’s Trunk or Treat Event Offers Safe Halloween Fun for Kids

Prizes for Best Decorated Vehicle and Children's Costumes

To bring the community together this Halloween and give kids a safe place to hunt for treats, Lake Camanche Resort will host its popular Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Moccasin Campground. Those who register In advance may enter the gate after 3 p.m. to decorate their vehicles for a special contest. All who enter the contest may camp that night for free at the Gold Run Campground, giving families the chance to scare up more fun by telling ghost stories over the campfire. Winner of the best best-decorated (car) trunk gets a free weekend in a four-person cottage. Those who win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place get trophies and other prizes. Kids who enter the costume contest can compete for trophies, medals and candy prizes. The contest will take place in various age group categories, such as “under 5 years,”,”ages 6-9” and ages “10-13.” Best decorated RVs can win a free weekend of Monument Camping plus a trophy. Judging takes place 7:30-8:30 p.m. that night.
