Merryhill Preschool in Elk Grove Builds New Playground from Recycled Materials for Earth Day

In celebration of Earth Day, parents used donated, natural and recycled materials to create a new playground at the school's campus

In celebration of Earth Day, parents and students at Merryhill Preschool on Harbour Point Drive in Elk Grove recently hosted a “Play Day” during which parents built a new outdoor play area using donated, natural and recycled items. The new play space includes a tree stump group time area, a sandbox created with recycled tires, a music station made with donated pots, pans and utensils, and a garden area for students to enjoy. While the play area was being built, students gardened, participated in other Earth Day activities, and learned about taking care of the environment. Merryhill Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at a young age.
